Who are Euro Machines Outils Distribution?
As its name suggests, Euro Machines Outils Distribution (Euro machine
tool distribution compagny) is a merchant compagny trading in metalworking
machines, and particularly in second-hand items. I am a former engineer
and tollmaker, extensively specialised in the production and development
of prototypes in a wide range of fields ranging from machine tools
to tectile machines or aeronautical subassemblies. The last post that
I held in this sector was at the C.E.R.N in Geneva, working with a
well-known French physicist. This was an exciting, highly technical
and very demanding professional experience for me. It probaly constitutes
my finest reference in this field. it was through working regularly
with researchers that I was inspired to innovate too, subsequently
registering several patents.
Where do these machines come from ?
In most cases the machines are proposed to me by the companies who
use them. I also deal with a number of traders abroad, and we regularly
exchange details of available and sought-after machines. It should
be remembered that recent and even extremly recent machines combine
the advantages of immediate availability with maximum performance
and reliability. At the same time (unlike new equipement) these machines
are also available just when you need them. Clients do not always
understand that very often a speedy decision is necessary. You should
always keep in mind that a deal can be made or lost in the space of
just a few hours. Here, I am talking from personal experience as I
handle situations like this several times a year. Missing out on a
deal is never a pleasant experience, especially for the client.
What sort of condition are the machines in ?
It is important to precisely describe what the client is looking for
in return for his investment:
1°) A machine sold "as is", generally to other traders
or to machine tool re-builders. If the machine does not conform to
the safety standards, it cannot be sold to a user.
2°) A machine sold conforming to the safety standards. In this
case, it is necessary to reach an agreement with the client as to
whether the machine can be sold "as is". Carrying out servicing
can be useful for dealing with various particular points. Caution
a service is not a re-build .
3°) A machine sold as "rebuilt" with a guarantee from
the re-builder. In this case, the installation, commissioning and
even training can all be included as part of services provided. A
schedule of conditions needs to be clearly established with the client.
Do you have any rare or unusual machines ?
Beginning with the smallest we have a rotary grinder for shafts of
1.2 mm in diameter. The largest is an engine lathe with a point to
point distance of 16 metres, with C axis an rotating tools. I should
also mention a horizontal, multi-pallet machining centre with an X
stroke of 2500 mm, a GLEASON gear tester, sold in South Africa, and
most recently a numerically controled vertical lathe, diameter 1800
mm, with changer. The list of machines sold over the last 20 years
is impressive.
In brief...
If you are looking for a second-hand machine or if you have one to
stell, sending me a fax or e-mail will take you just a few minutes.
You need to be realistic, as it is impossible to guarantee a result
100% in keeping with what you may be looking for, but at least you
will have the certainty that your request will be dealt with efficiently
and professionally.
Please feel free to call us if you require any further information.
